5 Things AI Website Builders Still Can’t Do
After 90 days testing 8 platforms across 3 business types, here’s what consistently fell short:
1. Understand your business model.
The AI knows you sell “outdoor gear.” It doesn’t know that your most profitable product has 3x margin but lower volume. Wix’s AI suggested promoting the cheapest tent as the hero product. A human would have asked.
2. Generate genuinely original design.
Every AI builder produces designs that look good and feel the same. They draw from the same training data. If you want a site that stands out from your competitors, you’ll need human design direction. Framer came closest to originality, but still within known patterns.
