Common English Writing Mistakes on LinkedIn (And How to Fix Them)

Your LinkedIn profile is often your first impression on recruiters and clients. Here are the most common English mistakes I see on LinkedIn.

1. Using “I” in Every Sentence

Bad: “I am a marketing professional. I have 5 years of experience. I manage a team of 10.”
Good: “Marketing professional with 5 years of experience. Manage a team of 10.”

2. Wrong Prepositions

“I work in marketing” (not “I work on marketing”)
“I am interested in” (not “interested on“)

3. Capitalization Errors

Job titles before names: “Marketing Manager John Smith” – capitalize
Job titles after names: “John Smith, marketing manager” – lowercase

4. Overusing “Responsible For”

Use action verbs instead: “Led,” “Developed,” “Implemented,” “Achieved”
